They connected through Bvddy, an app that’s basically Tinder for fit people. Cari, a year-old marketer, and Daniel, a year-old tech pro, have so much in common that we’re shocked they didn’t meet sooner. They’re both originally from Venezuela but now call Miami home, they share many of the same friends in their community, and they both love playing sports.
It was that passion for athletics that finally brought them together when both signed up for Bvddy , a Tinder-like app designed specifically to connect people through sports and fitness. At first, using the app was kind of like a game. Cari says she swiped right on a lot of athletic guys, saying that she wasn’t even looking for romance but just a friend to play volleyball with.

The event will run from August 22 to 30 in Zenica Bosnia and Herzegovina and Osijek Croatia with participation of 12 national teams. Since the CEV had to cancel the second and third stage of the qualification process due to the coronavirus crisis, next to the teams representing the host countries, as per decision of the CEV Board of Administration, another ten have secured their participation by virtue of their position in the latest European Ranking for this age group.
These have all confirmed the wish to use their respective slot. The CEV has finalised a tentative calendar for the EuroVolley qualifiers initially scheduled for late August and early September As per the decision taken by the CEV Board of Administration back in April and further to the many restrictions still in place across Europe due to the coronavirus crisis, the CEV has shown much flexibility in liaising with National Federations, trying to find the most reasonable solutions while safeguarding the health and well-being of players, coaches and officials.
The CEV will continue to monitor the evolution of the pandemic and as a result, this tentative calendar remains subject to further changes. The main deviation from the initial programme relates to the competition format, with tournaments replacing the originally planned home and away matches in each pool in order to avoid extensive travelling for teams and officials at a time when governments continue to impose a number of restrictions in order to contain the spread of the disease.
A small number of qualifiers will be taking place in the late summer of , as long as conditions allow for their safe delivery, with most tournaments pushed back to early January A total of 12 teams per gender will qualify from those double round-robin tournaments to the EuroVolley Final Rounds scheduled for the late summer of next year. These 12 teams will join the four organisers and another eight teams already qualified as per the final standing of the edition.
The tentative programme of the EuroVolley qualifiers looks as follows:. After a careful assessment of the health and safety conditions across Europe as well as after holding a number of conference calls with representatives of member National Federations, the CEV has decided to cancel all of the age-group qualifiers U17 Women, U18 Men, U19 Women, and U20 Men pushed back to the month of August after the coronavirus outbreak disrupted the initial competition schedule earlier this year.
Even though this is a hard decision, the well-being and health of everyone associated with the sport remain paramount. Moreover, travel restrictions are still in place in Europe, teams have limited opportunities to gather and practice, and therefore it appears that the organisation and delivery of these events is not feasible.
